Introducing Justin Douglas Brown

Hello World...
Justin Douglas Brown was born the morning of July 27, 2006- weighing a very healthy 8 lbs. 4 ounces and 21 inches long (minus his 1 inch cone head). My mom got a call from Brittany that morning around 8 am. saying she thought her water broke but that she was just going to wait because she had a scheduled Dr's appt at noon that day... my Mom called her back saying "You call your Dr. right now and tell them and see what he say and call me back in 5 minutes." Of course her Dr. told her to come in and the rest is history! The grandparents to be each rec'd their phone calls telling them that plans had changed- Justin wasn't waiting for his Aug.6th birthdate, but was on his way now! Doug and Sandie flew together and arrived that eve with Karen not far behind. That night not a lot of progress was made and the next morning it was decided that a c-section was necessary. Brittany did beautifully and was a trooper - which is no surprise to any of us.

I talked to my Mom on the phone and she said that she was sitting with Brittany later in the evening after Justin was born and she just watched Brittany- and all Brittany was doing was watching Justin and then Brittany said to my Mom " I can't believe he's mine."

Proud Papa

Colin and I talked on the phone every couple hours from the time Brittany realized her water broke... and realized- this whole thing was the real deal! All I know is- he's really ready for this next step in his life- he's been looking forward to meeting Justin every since Brittany found out she was pregnant. We are all lucky to have Justin in our life and Justin is so lucky to have Colin as his Dad. Cheers to the Proud Papa!

First Hours

For the first few hours Justin was in the nursery and Brittany was recovering. Nobody (especially the new grandmother's and grandfather) could seem to unglue themselves from the nursery window. He's perfectly perfect and his cone head looks tooooo cute with his purple tie dye hat.
